January 21, 2007

A year ago today, Eric and I packed up my car and left for Chattanooga. It's crazy to think that we have been up here for a year! I will never forget that drive up here. It rained for most of the trip and I remember driving through Atlanta at night, in the rain and feeling scared that I was going to crash. When I got to Chattanooga (9 1/2 hours later) I missed my exit and had to turn around. I got to the apartment, took Abbey upstairs and unloaded a few things. By this time I was starving so I called my mom to get directions to a Wendy's. I took a wrong turn at first but then I was able to find my way. When I got back, I took my food upstairs and I remember sitting on the floor in the empty apartment thinking, oh my gosh, what have we done? I was miserable and felt a little sick to my stomache. It's funny how being exhausted, hungry and lost can really play with your emotions. Those feelings all went away after a good night sleep and everything has been great ever since. It definitely was a great idea to move here. We love it!
